Why we can’t rely on the White House

Real Justice

We just passed the halfway point for President Biden’s first 100 days. And while he made a lot of promises about overhauling the criminal justice system, there’s been little follow through.

They keep asking for "more time" — but how much longer do we need to wait?

The short answer is: we shouldn’t. 50 days is more than enough time to take meaningful action. But we also shouldn’t get fixated on these problems being handled at the federal level.

Right now, literally half of all incarcerated people in America are under the jurisdiction of just 150 District Attorneys. And if we put compassionate District Attorneys into those offices, we can do so much good.

So while Joe Biden DOES still need to make good on his promises, we’re not going to wait around idly.

Real Justice is working around the clock to elect transformational District Attorneys nationwide.

Look, the DAs we back have the potential to do so much for Black and brown communities.

Even if Biden breaks all his promises, the right legislators could do away with cash bail, marijuana possession charges, the death penalty, AND hold corrupt, racist police officers accountable. All without any assistance or obstruction from the White House.

That’s why our work is so important. Everyone here knows there’s no time to waste on these issues. Too many people are suffering and in danger.

The sooner we get more transformative District Attorneys in office, the sooner they can hold police accountable and overhaul our justice system. Please chip in $5 today. We rely on your grassroots support to organize and elect these candidates.

In solidarity,

Real Justice
