Second-most expensive race in the county

 

Not many people know this, but Alexandria’s re-election was the second-most expensive congressional race in November 2020.

Republicans and establishment Democrats did everything they could to defeat her. First, she was up against a Wall Street-backed Democratic primary challenger with $3 million in the bank.

Then in the general election, her Republican opponent raised $10 million for his campaign. They threw every insult and lie her way — hoping she wouldn’t win re-election and instead become a flash-in-the-pan.

But the good news is: their efforts didn’t work. That’s because of the movement we’ve built and the grassroots donations from people like you that ensured we had the resources to fight back and organize.

Now the same forces are coming together to try to defeat Alexandria in 2022 with a new opponent just being announced.
