Political Notes: Candidate REPUBLICAN ANTI-MASKER Steven Xiarhos ‘doing great’ under quarantine

REPUBLICAN ANTI-MASKERS PUT ALL OF US AT RISK OF EXPOSURE DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE.

IS THIS REALLY THE LEVEL OF IGNORANCE WE WANT IN GOVERNMENT?

REPUBLICANS ARE SPREADING THE VIRUS DUE TO THEIR REFUSAL TO WEAR FACE MASKS AND MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

WE KNOW HOW THE VIRUS IS SPREAD!

WEST BARNSTABLE — Steven Xiarhos, a Republican candidate for state representative in the 5th Barnstable District, is feeling good and quarantining at his home in West Barnstable after he recently came in contact with multiple people at the White House — including President Donald Trump — who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Xiarhos tested negative for the virus last week and has been in quarantine since Friday, according to David Sampson, chairman of the Committee to Elect Steven Xiarhos.

The retired Yarmouth Deputy Police Chief was at a Gold Star family event at the White House on Sept. 27.

By Friday, Trump announced he tested positive and was hospitalized later that day. On Monday, Kayleigh McEnany, Trump’s press secretary, who Xiarhos also met at the dinner, had tested positive.

Xiarhos gave a speech at the event and shook Trump’s hand. He also took photos with McEnany and his daughters.

Xiarhos was tested at the event and was also negative then, according to his campaign.

The test was also within 72 hours of his return to Massachusetts, not triggering an automatic quarantine for traveling out-of-state.

In a video posted on his personal Facebook page over the weekend, Xiarhos thanked his supporters and showed off his quarantine set-up at home, where he was fundraising and catching up on paperwork.

“I’m home and we’re doing great and it’s hard to believe it’s all happened,” he said.

Xiarhos is running against Sandwich Democrat James Dever in the race for the seat being vacated by state Rep. Randy Hunt, R-Sandwich.
