Nine months ago, we told you we were going to do something different. Zohran entered office with one core goal: work day in and day out to ensure government delivers for everyday people. We trusted that this would resonate with Americans of all political stripes.
The New York Times just released a new national poll that confirms what we believed.
Zohran’s favorability is net positive nationally 38–33 with likely voters.
This isn’t a fluke, and it isn’t just about one mayor in one city. It’s proof that our movement is growing across the country. That when you use your power to actually fight for working people — taking on bad landlords, expanding childcare, funding public transit — people take notice.
That’s the real headline in this poll. Across the country voters are expressing a hunger for government that measures its success by what it can deliver.
But let’s be clear-eyed about what’s coming. The same insiders who didn’t want us to win in the first place do not want our success to become the new norm. They don’t want New York to prove that this works. Because if it works in one city, it can work everywhere, and it shows that our expectations don’t have to be so low.
Our opposition is reading the same polls and our success only means that they will be fundraising earlier and using every tool to slow us down. But with your support, we will have the resources we need to out-organize them at every turn.
