ICE just filed a plan to spend $20 million on electric shock gloves.
They look like ordinary padded work gloves, but one press of a button on the wrist drops a person to the ground screaming from a single touch.

Amnesty International says these things are readily misused for torture, and researchers who study them said flat out that they serve no real law enforcement purpose. The police and jailers already using them love these gloves because they leave no burn marks and no scars. But let me tell you the biggest risk of a tool like this in the hands of ICE: these gloves produce an involuntary response causing a person to convulse. This can easily make it look to the casual observer (or undertrained agent) like the target is resisting arrest. It’s a built-in pretext for agents who already turn to lethal force with ease. And it leaves no evidence trail. One sheriff's office recommended these gloves to anyone who wants a tool that will not get them sued for excessive force. An assistant police chief said a punch or a regular taser leaves evidence, but the glove is low optic and looks better on camera. ICE is spending $20 million on a weapon picked for one reason: It hurts people without leaving proof they were hurt.
