Lutnick admits to having prolonged ties to Epstein in closed-door interview
The Commerce Secretary sat for a transcribed interview with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee as part of the panel’s Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
Howard Lutnick has spent months trying to downplay his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Now we're learning something else that should concern every American.
Just weeks after agreeing to testify before Congress about his ties to Epstein, Lutnick donated $5 million to the super PAC dedicated to electing House Republicans.
The same House Republicans who have spent months obstructing accountability and protecting this administration from scrutiny.
Public service is supposed to be about serving the public — not protecting yourself or buying good will while Congress investigates your conduct.
No matter who you are, what party you belong to, or what office you hold, accountability matters.
If someone serving in the highest levels of government can't avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest, they shouldn't be serving in government.
That's a basic principle.
But this lawless administration is determined to ignore and undermine it at every turn.
