REPUBLICAN PARTY REFUSE TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT A SLUSH FUND!
Last night, I stood on the Senate floor and asked my Republican colleagues a simple question: Who among you thinks Trump's slush fund is a good idea? Silence. Not a single Republican senator spoke up in defense of a scheme that would funnel billions of taxpayer dollars to January 6th rioters, cop beaters, and election deniers. They couldn't defend it — because it is indefensible. So I gave them a chance to do the right thing. I offered an amendment to shut it down. While 5 Republicans crossed the aisle to vote for my amendment, the vast majority of them refused to vote their conscience. Ultimately the amendment was unable to reach the 60 vote threshold and didn’t pass. That tells you everything you need to know about where the Republican Party stands today. The party as a whole refuses to defend Trump’s excessively corrupt behavior. But when it comes time to actually stopping him, they are frozen in place. Simply too scared to cross this corrupt president. And so they become complicit. In the corruption. In the cover-up. In a plan that rewards the very people who beat police officers with flagpoles and tried to overturn a free and fair election. Last night illustrated something we must all acknowledge: if there is to be any stopping the corruption, Democrats must retake the Senate majority in November. That is the only way to truly stop what is happening. That's why I'm asking for your support today. Not tomorrow. Now. Will you pitch in $10, $25, or whatever you can to help us take back the Senate and put an end to this president's abuse of power?
