Are We on the Brink of a Global Debt Crisis?

The economic shocks from Trump's war on Iran are undermining countries' reliance on U.S. debt and fiat currency. If this snowballs, America has the most to lose.

Action Needed: This Could Push Wolves to the Brink

Sponsored by Environmental Action

Representative Lauren Boebert's wolf-hunting bill has passed the House. This would open the door to nationwide wolf hunts. Now we need to stop this bill in the Senate.

Tell your U.S. senators: No more wolf hunts

U.S. senators,

Gray wolves are already being pushed closer and closer to the brink of extinction.

In the Northern Rockies, where wolves have already had their federal protections stripped away, the states of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming are trying to kill as many wolves as possible.

And they’re doing it in the most horrific ways you can imagine: Hunting wolves from helicopters, running them down with snowmobiles, even killing newborn pups in their dens.

Delisting wolves would be a dangerous step in the wrong direction, opening the door to radically expanded hunting and trapping of gray wolves — and slipping language into a spending bill is the wrong way to make decisions about the future of our nation’s endangered wildlife.

I’m urging you to oppose any efforts to expand wolf hunting or erase Endangered Species Act protections for wolves.

Are Big Companies, Not Locavorism, the Best Hope for American Food?

Small, local growers have long been hailed as the way to improve food. But large companies have the scale to make a bigger impact.

People Love to Blame "Ultra-Processed Food." It's Unhelpful.

A new bill proposed in California misses the point: The reason not to eat junk food has more to do with what's in it than how processed it is.

You Can Smell It Now: The Trump Presidency Is in Total Free-Fall

By Michael Tomasky

The presidency of Donald Trump is now officially in collapse. His war is … not exactly a disaster, but it sure isn't the cakewalk he envisioned when he sprang it on the American people and the world with no notice on February 28. His firing of Attorney General Pam Bondi because she wasn't sycophantic enough indicates a man who is utterly incapable of understanding anything about how democracy is supposed to work. His economy is a wreck and may well get worse. His proposed budget, especially the half-trillion-dollar increase to the Pentagon, is wildly out of whack with the priorities of the public.

I could go on—and on. But on top of all that, Trump's purchase on reality, tenuous at the best of times, is slipping fast.

There Will Be No Post-Presidential Peace for Donald Trump

The president and his allies will face impeachments, lawsuits, and maybe even The Hague.
