Minneapolis video evidence flatly contradicts Trump regime's narrative of disturbing ICE shooting
In just the latest example of government-sponsored fiction peddled as fact, the Department of Homeland Security rushed out a press release in January after ICE agents shot Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis in Minneapolis, immediately branding Sosa-Celis and two other Venezuelan men as "attempted murderers." DHS officials claimed the trio attacked an ICE agent with brooms and a shovel for several minutes, leading him to fire his gun "defensively" — a heroic narrative that collapsed the moment anyone bothered to watch readily available video evidence.

The video actually shows a roughly 12-second scuffle involving two men and no prolonged attack with a shovel, which appears to be tossed aside before the struggle even begins. Nonetheless, federal prosecutors charged two of the immigrants with assaulting an officer two days later, relying on agent accounts and an FBI affidavit — apparently without anyone in the chain of command thinking to, you know, watch the footage they already had.

The case only unraveled after a prosecutor finally reviewed the footage and moved to dismiss the charges, citing "newly discovered evidence" — evidence that Minneapolis police say the federal government had within hours of the incident. As Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey noted, "Bare due diligence would have shown that the agents were lying." Shocking, we know.
