This weekend I said what every veteran who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan already knows in our bones: this attack on Venezuela is another illegal war for oil and profit. Then Trump took the podium and proved me right. He bragged, “We’re going to run the country” and “fix Venezuela’s oil infrastructure.” Fix it for whom? Exxon? Halliburton? The same corporate bloodsuckers who never miss a war but never fight one either. I’ll be damned if we let this happen again. CHIP IN TO SEND A COMBAT COMMANDER TO CONGRESS! Trump’s cronies at Exxon and Chevron are lining up for their cut, and every word out of his mouth drips with greed dressed up as liberation. Meanwhile he has no plan for the power vacuum he just created or how it’s going to hurt the Venezuelan people. And it’s not doing us any favors here at home, either. Iraq didn’t find freedom. Afghanistan didn’t get liberation. And Libya was supposed to be a model for democracy, remember? Now it’s a warlord’s playground where human beings are sold like livestock. Every time these bastards at the top launch an asset grab wrapped in the flag and cheap patriotism, the world is left burning, broken, and poorer for it.  Our so-called commander-in -chief knows this. He dodged questions about boots on the ground because he knows it means more dead kids, and more Gold Star families at home. If we don’t stand up now, they’ll feed us the same lies they fed us over 20 years ago. Chip in today to help me flip this seat and bring a soldier’s truth to Washington.
