MIDDLEBORO REVIEW AND SO ON
After facing weeks of heat for authorizing strikes on shipwrecked survivors in the Caribbean, we’re now learning that Pete Hegseth told US soldiers in Iraq to ignore legal advice on rules of engagement – and bragged about it in his own book.
I served in that war, too.
I fought beside soldiers who made life-and-death decisions in seconds, and I can tell you from experience: the rules of engagement are there to save lives.
They keep the mission clean, the chain of command accountable, and the uniform honorable.
Our troops are the most educated in the world, and I promise you we aren’t stupid. You break those rules, you don’t just endanger your troops, you disgrace the flag on your shoulder.
Chip in to help us flip this seat, take back the House, and send a veteran to Congress who will restore oversight and dismantle Hegseth’s empire of disgrace piece by piece.
Military leadership means discipline under pressure.
It means carrying yourself like your actions reflect your country, because they do.
Every soldier who has ever put on that uniform knows this.
Hegseth calls his actions a “warrior mentality.” I call it what it is: reckless, stupid, and fundamentally un-American.
That’s what happens when a Fox News flunky gets to run the Department of Defense – he mistakes a soundbite for strategy and a war crime for toughness.
This is why we need seasoned veterans in Congress.
Men and women who actually believe in military standards, chain of command, and the laws of armed conflict.
We need oversight, we need accountability, and we need to flip the House so people like Pete Hegseth never hold power again.
Chip in today to help me flip this seat and take this fight to Washington.
