Tell us your health care story! IT'S ABOUT HEALTH CARE! TAKE CARE OF ALL AMERICANS! MAGA GOP & TRUMP DON'T CARE!
MomsRising has noticed how much you care about health care. Thank you!! Now, as we enter the fourth week of a government shutdown resulting from Trump and Republicans in Congress trying to rip health care away from millions of Americans—and drive up health care costs for everyone else—we need to hear from you.
This is important, and your voice is needed. Families are feeling the strain of rising costs—from everyday essentials like groceries and gas, to back-to-school supplies, childcare, and health care. Now, Republican leaders in Congress have pulled the rug out from under us yet again by increasing the cost of health coverage for millions.
The health care situation isn’t good. In addition to the $1 trillion in health care cuts Republican leaders in Congress made in the Big, Ugly Budget Bill signed into law this summer, now the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits are set to expire at the end of the year IF Republican leaders (who control the House, Senate, and White House) don’t take action. Millions of people across the country are starting to get notifications that their premiums are skyrocketing, and 24 million people could see their premiums go up by an average of 75%! On top of this, more than 15 million people are expected to lose health care coverage altogether due to cuts earlier this year.
When millions of people become uninsured, it will put a strain on the entire health care system, causing health care costs to rise across the board and even forcing hundreds of hospitals, maternity wards, and nursing homes to close. Unacceptable!
We need people (like you!) to share your experience with health care to help members of Congress understand how health policy is impacting their constituents. Your personal stories make a huge difference in helping elected leaders and other parents understand the far reaching impact of rising health care costs, hospital closures, and reduced access to care.
