If I go to jail, so be it

Hi, it’s Philadelphia District Attorney, Larry Krasner.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order last week tasking his secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth, with establishing “specialized units” in the National Guard that will be “specifically trained and equipped to deal with public order issues.”

He wants to deploy the National Guard to cities across the country like he’s already done in D.C., so he can set off a crisis big enough to cancel elections in the future.

That’s why I went on CNN and the Meidas Touch podcast last week to state clearly that if Trump illegally brings in ICE agents or the military to commit crimes under Pennsylvania law in Philadelphia, they can be prosecuted.

I will not back down. None of us should. And if that means a short trip to jail, so be it.

I am 100% dedicated to defending our city from Trump’s illegal overreach. He’s a wannabe dictator, and I’m tired of some other Democrats not standing up to him.

But I need you with me. I’m getting hit from all sides by MAGA and my newly announced Republican opponent, who wants to unseat me so he can be Trump’s lapdog here in Philly.

Under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution, the president has no ability to force local law enforcement authorities to enforce federal law.

All his fake excuses are grifts in search of a crisis he is trying to create. The only crisis IS Donald Trump. He wants an excuse to cancel future elections. He’s talking about it openly.

America needs to wake up. This is serious. It’s not time to appease, it’s time to fight.
