By Ben Meiselas This is Ben Meiselas, co-founder of the MeidasTouch Network. I have an urgent message I want to share. There is major urgency, right now, for this movement to stick together and fight back against the Trump regime. The regime is trying to shut us down, to divide us, to scare us, to threaten us, and to destroy us. What we witnessed this past week from Trump and his regime is nothing short of horrifying, but we all fought back. We pushed back. We won the week. There are a few more weeks of the summer. Let’s use this time to solidify our movement and grow it even more for the fight ahead. Before I write more, I want to say thank you to our subscribers to this Substack. You have helped keep MeidasTouch as the most watched digital news network this week, beating Fox in views and Joe Rogan in downloads. We have grown with zero investors thanks to our subscribers here. Please, everyone subscribe now if you can. Back to this post. We have to understand the urgency of this moment. As a network, we have to platform and amplify leaders who are meeting the urgency of the moment. This week, we were the most viewed channel for coverage of Gavin Newsom’s plan to fight back against Trump. We got the exclusive interview with Newsom. We are the most viewed network for the Bernie Sanders rallies in West Virginia and North Carolina. We are the most viewed network for the protests which get almost no coverage anywhere else. We cover protests in the United States and across the world. We know that covering the protests can cause major consequences, like losing our social media platforms and our revenue, but we don’t care. We’ve been relentless in our coverage of the Alaska catastrophe between Trump and Putin. As I am sure you know, I read all of your comments on this Substack. You help me. You inspire me. It helps educate me. It helps humble me. It helps center me. Sometimes I will see people say something like, “Ben, there was nothing that urgent taking place so stop saying things are urgent.” I have to respectfully disagree. I wake up and go to sleep feeling the urgency of this moment. I think so many news entities view this all as just a game or a business and don’t see the urgency of stopping a fascist takeover. I am not sorry when I say I view what I do as life or death. Some might say that’s a lot of pressure to put on myself, but I don’t think so. I know from listening to you the type of struggles and fears you confront each day. I feel blessed that my litigation and business background has allowed me to be useful during this time of crisis and to devote my life to build a sprawling news network to help you and help this community. I love what I do. But I also do what I do knowing the solemn responsibility I have and the role the MeidasTouch Network has in your life. We will keep building and growing this network to fight for you. We had major momentum this week in hitting our subscriber goal for the month. We are not there yet. Please help the MeidasTouch Network continue to operate and expand if you can by subscribing now or gifting a subscription to someone you know. |
