Last night, Democrat Catelin Drey won the special election for an Iowa state Senate seat, breaking the GOP’s supermajority. Trump carried the district by 11 points last year, while Drey won by more than 10 points—a huge swing in a reliably red district.
FED GOVERNOR PUSHES BACK

Trump claimed he “fired” Federal Reserve Governor Dr. Lisa Cook, even though he doesn’t have the authority to do so.
Dr. Cook is pushing back—and plans to sue the regime over it. Dr. Cook stated: “Trump purported to fire me ‘for cause’ when no cause exists under the law.”
Few paid attention to LISA COOK's nomination & appointment, but she's IMPRESSIVE!
She's also BLACK...this couldn't be TRUMP'S RACISM..NAW!
There was a lengthy discussion on our LOCAL PBS STATION about LISA COOK's history & credentials that also focused on how few WOMEN are in ECONOMICS programs....that's why we need PBS/NPB for their research that corporate media is too lazy to address & prsent SOUNDBYTES, not information.

GOP REP. FORCED TO FACE THE TRUTH

In Bolivar, MO, GOP Rep. Mark Alford held a town hall—and it didn’t go well for him.
At one point, his constituent Fred Higginbotham said what most of us are thinking: “Get Trump out of office … The man is a dictator. He knows nothing about what he talks about.” Higginbotham went on to say: “You need to take your head out of Trump’s a** and start doing your representation of us.”
ANOTHER GOVERNOR STEPS UP

Washington Governor Bob Ferguson was one of many elected officials who received a disgusting threat letter from AG Pam Bondi in recent weeks. It warns of criminal charges for anyone who stands in the way of Trump’s abusive immigration tactics.
During a press conference, Ferguson responded: “Pam Bondi seems to believe that cavalierly citing criminal statutes and personally threatening me ... will result in compromising the values of my state. That is not going to happen.”
“Let me be very clear,” Ferguson said. “Washington State will not be bullied or intimidated by threats and legally baseless accusations.” Every elected official must push back like this.
DUCKWORTH SENDS A STRONG MESSAGE

At a press conference on Monday, Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth absolutely blasted Trump’s threat to send troops into Chicago.
Duckworth served in the military for decades—most of that in the National Guard. In 2004, she lost her legs after her helicopter was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.
Calling it a “PR stunt” by a “tinpot dictator,” Duckworth said: “Trump’s actions are not about law and order—give me a break ... This is just another sad, desperate attempt by a small man, to distract the American people from ... the countless personal scandals he’s trying to sweep under the rug.” It sure is.
“Maybe if Donald Trump hadn’t dodged the draft so many times,” Duckworth added, “he would’ve actually learned something about keeping our country strong. But that is obviously too much to expect from cadet bone spurs.”
THE WORST “CABINET” MEETING EVER

I won’t repeat any of the garbage or lies spewed at the long regime meeting yesterday. But I did want to point out one bizarre moment. When advisor Steve Witkoff said his only wish was for Trump to win the Nobel Prize, these cult members clapped and nodded. Witkoff’s wish was not for peace—but for Trump to win a medal. Gross.
This regime is a grotesque, maniacal, and corrupt dumpster fire—and it’s what we’re up against every single day.

Three things about Lisa Cook.
One, there's some question about the meaning of 'principle residence, and primary residence.'
Two, the SC probably will let the convicted felon Trump remove her, if only because the SC will give him the benefit of doubt on what 'for cause' means.
And three, Texas AG Ken Paxton was under investigation for mortgage fraud, he listed no less than three residences as his 'primary' residence.
Yet I fail to see Bill Pulte sending criminal complaints to AG Bondi on the Paxton accusations.

We know enough about authoritarian supporters from research, and history, to know it will be very hard to change their minds about the leader they adore.
They are extremely ethnocentric, dividing the world sharply into people in their in-group, and automatically disliking all others. They feel politicians who promote minority rights and immigration discriminate against them. Donald Trump tells them they are right. He is their champion.
They are highly dogmatic. They get their ideas from others in the in-group, especially from their leader, not from evidence and logic. They say there is no evidence that will make them change their minds. They’re quite comfortable believing “alternate facts.”
They get great satisfaction from being part of a large movement. Being in a cohesive crowd at rallies thrills them because they silently tell one another, just by being there, that they are powerful and right. They have highly compartmentalized minds. When an unpleasant truth forces its way into their awareness, they do not try to integrate the other things they believe with it. Instead they put it in a box and isolate it from the rest of their thinking, which proceeds as if the truth never existed.
Put all this together and you get an idea how hard it will be to change their minds about Donald Trump.
One can expect some of Trump’s followers to waver if the months ahead are thick with damaging revelations like those that brought down the Nixon White House. But a repeat of “Watergate-type scandals” may not damage Trump as much as they did Nixon.
