Alberta Separatists Say Trump Regime Offered Them $500,000,000 “Loan” To Break Up CanadaAlberta’s separatist circuit is bragging about a half-billion-dollar “transition loan” they say was discussed with Trumpworld in Washington. Seditious if true...Alberta’s separatist circuit is bragging about a half-billion-dollar “transition loan” they say was discussed with Trumpworld in Washington. No names, no documents—just big talk, U.S. dark-money fingerprints, and a disinformation machine running hot. Here’s what’s claimed, what’s real, and why Canadians should treat this as foreign interference—not a future. TL;DR- A group of Alberta separatist activists—led by Dennis Modry and backed by a familiar cast of MAGA-adjacent boosters—told a friendly crowd that “senior U.S. officials” discussed a US$500M loan, a par CAD→USD swap for Albertans, and U.S. recognition after an independence vote. - There is no public proof of the loan offer. What is real: a coordinated campaign (events, billboards, Fox hits, Washington trips) to launder a fantasy as inevitability while undermining Canadian sovereignty. It’s a betrayal of Canada’s interests—and textbook foreign interference dressed up as prairie populism. The “$500M Loan” Story They’re SellingAt a Rebel News-branded rally in Red Deer, former Alberta Prosperity Project boss Dr. Dennis Modry told the room he met “senior U.S. administrative officials” in Washington in April. According to Modry:
(screenshot Desmog.com) Notably absent: any named U.S. officials, documents, emails, calendars, term sheets—nothing. When reporters asked for proof or names, silence. When pressed on dates, Modry floated April 22—still with zero substantiation. My read: this is classic disinfo choreography—grandiose promise, no paperwork, maximum virality. Who’s Pushing It—By NameLet’s be crystal:
These are not patriots safeguarding Alberta’s future. They’re (in most cases) rejects, victims and in some cases criminals who’ve made shittty choices and are selling a destabilization fantasy that hands leverage to a foreign politician and his donors out of spite. Call it what you will, but I see it as victims betraying Canada’s interests. (And to be explicit: I’m making a political/moral judgment here—not a legal charge.) Why Their Numbers Don’t Add Up (Because Math)
Translation: the money story is theater—designed to sound big, not be real. BUT… Why It Still Feels Plausible (and That’s the Point)If you’re thinking, “This sounds like something Trumpworld would float,” you’re not wrong. The playbook is familiar:
The Legal Reality (Canada)Even if a foreign politician promised recognition tomorrow, Alberta cannot unilaterally secede. The Supreme Court’s 1998 Secession Reference and the Clarity Act bind the process to clear-question, clear-majority standards and negotiations with Ottawa and the provinces. No back-channel loan, billboard, or Fox segment shortcuts the Constitution. Receipts We Do Have
What we don’t have: any document showing a U.S. office proposed, vetted, or could legally deliver a “separatist loan.” You don’t put that stuff on paper or in a deck. You go for a walk with opportunists like Modry, Rath, and Parker and appeal to their nature with money and promise of influence and “One Nation Under God” bullshit with the first two being the most important. This Is Foreign Interference—Act Like ItLet’s drop the euphemisms. Foreign political actors and their Canadian surrogates are trying to rewrite Canada’s borders with marketing and disinfo. That doesn’t make them criminal by default; it makes them dangerous and unfit to be anywhere near Alberta’s future.
What Happens Next (and How We Get Proof)I’m filing document requests to U.S. agencies that would have touched any legitimate conversation: State, Treasury (International Affairs), DFC, EXIM, USTR. We’re asking for emails, calendars, memos, call sheets, and term sheets from March 15–May 31—the planning window, the supposed April meetings, and the immediate aftermath. If the loan was real, there will be a paper trail. Canada’s PositionWe are one country. Our future isn’t decided in a D.C. greenroom or at a donor’s dinner. It’s decided here—by Canadians, under Canadian law, with Canadian interests at heart. Alberta is not for sale—not for US$500 million, not for US$50 billion. The fact of the matter is roughly 11 percent of Alberta’s citizens have secession dreams. They want to join the US because A) they’re dumb religious zealots and hillbiliies who wish to live in a police state controlled by white men and Christian Nationalists, and B) It’s being driven by hardline Christian nationalists and crminals or assholes like Modry or Rath who have been removed from their profession due to their own actions and they’re pissed so they’re running into the arms of their victim cult. Easy game. My guess is Modry and the rest of this apparentist brain trust are lying about the loan, but I also have a very deep understanding of how MAGA is working with at least three of them individually to fund the separatist movement. But let’s call it what it really is. Treason. Sedition by Quislings and victims of Canada’s laws and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. |
