Stay focused on the GOP's horrible budget bill
By now you have likely heard that Donald Trump and Elon Musk have taken to publicly bashing each other and exchanging threats and insults over social media.
The Lovefest ended in acrimony here at the start of Pride Month (happy Pride, everyone!) after Musk said on X thatthe Epstein Files haven't been released because Trump is in them.
Live look at headlines right now—all exclusively about the Trump-Musk feud.
This dark, twisted nightmare just keeps getting worse. But while these two Drama Queens fight it out, we need to make sure we stay focused on what's important:
1) Elon Musk could do immense good in the world with his unprecedented wealth. Instead, he has chosen to do harm, spread disinformation, and spend $300 million to help elect a convicted felon as president.
2) Trump and the congressional GOP's budget is an immoral, irresponsible, and irredeemably awful attack on the middle class, working people, and a fair and just society.
3) Both Trump and Musk worked hard to enact this budget. Musk likely doesn't care about the bill so much as he wants to wield power over Trump and Congress. They must both be held accountable.
In short, this spat could very well be a ruse designed to distract us from what the GOP is about to do: rip basic healthcare access away from 11 million Americans, and raise taxes on working people whileloweringtaxes for the super rich and the wealthy.
