Yes, I am attending a protest. I’m on a small island of only 6000 in the Pacific Northwest. Conceivably I could have decided to swell the undoubtably large protest in Seattle by one person, but my one body forms a larger percentage of the population when I attend my local ones, which happen on all the big protest days and sometimes in between. The organizers of this one are encouraging us to bring homemade cookies, bread, or pie to share with other protesters, to introduce an element of fun and community sharing. But it’s not all fun and games, even here. Some of my white friends are getting to know the children of potential Hispanic deportees so that if family separation happens here, at least the young ones might have people to turn to. I read the devastating account of a reporter encountering a tearful sixth grader in California whose farm worker parents had been abducted leaving the child with no one. That cruelty can’t be what all those Trump voters really envisioned when they marked their ballots for the liar-in-chief.

Today, thousands of peaceful anti-Trump protests are planned all across America, and in more than a dozen other countries. These “No Kings” events are set for the same day Trump is staging his authoritarian birthday parade.

As of now, the DC weather forecast calls for around a 75% chance of rain, with a possibility of thunderstorms when the parade kicks off. According to an Army spokesperson, if conditions are bad enough, the parade will be canceled or rescheduled.

If it’s canceled, that would be the perfect birthday gift for Trump after all the chaos he’s unleashed upon the world. But if this charade of a parade goes forward as planned, we’re ready to push back when the Trump regime lies about crowd size and everything else.

In Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu signed an executive order aimed at exposing ICE’s secretive “police tactics” through public record requests. “My advice to Tom Homan and ICE is to take a time out, reassess what you are doing and how you are doing it,” Mayor Wu said.

Wu also stated: “The American people are not stupid … No one is buying the line that these secret police tactics are making communities safer.” Spot on.

Three former Pentagon advisers for failed Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth all went on the record with New York Magazine, for an exposé aptly titled “Playing Secretary.” In the report, writer Kerry Howley states: “Hegseth has no chief of staff … Why is his divorce lawyer … always around? And his brother Phil? And his wife?” All valid questions we need answers to.

In the courts, a federal judge ordered some of the documents in the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case to be unsealed. Another judge blocked 2,000 unjust firings at the State Dept, and a third ruling halted the Trump regime from tampering with federal elections. On top of that, Trump’s appeal of E. Jean Carroll's $5 million court win against him, was denied. All major Trump losses.

SPINELESS MAGA MIKE JOHNSON LIED! THERE'S VIDEO! 

Following the unhinged removal of Dem Sen. Alex Padilla from a DHS press conference, Speaker Johnson was humiliated while trying to lie about the incident to reporters.

Dem Rep. Sam Liccardo interrupted Johnson, saying: “Mike, that’s absurd.” Dem Rep Dan Goldman asked loudly: “Why don’t you stand up for Congress?” And several other Dems could be heard saying “liar,” and “that’s a lie,” as they walked by. We need more of this. Much more.

In his first interview since the incident, Sen. Padilla said: “There’s a lot of passion … fear and anxiety … outrage … it’s very patriotic to channel that, and to speak up, and to demonstrate. Let’s do it peacefully, because that is our right."

And that’s exactly what millions of us will be doing today—standing up and peacefully protesting against Trump—his ugly bill, his corruption, and his constant abuse of power. But we’re also speaking out for our democracy, and the right to live free from tyranny.

There are no kings in America—with strength in numbers, we will show that to the entire world today. And since corporate media can’t be trusted to do it, I’ll be giving the protests the honest reporting they deserve.

ICE GESTAPO arrested a MILFORD STUDENT then LIED when the community mobilized for his release. ICE GESTAPO made outrageous claims that they were looking for his DAD who had a history of driving in excess of 100 MPH, but there are no criminal records.

ICE GESTAPO used a BATTERING RAM in New Bedford to break into a home as children were eating breakfaast & then pointed their guns at the kids!

UNIDENTIFIED ICE GESTAPO arrested a driver in NEW BEDFORD broke a car window loking for TONY - not his name, assaulted occupants of the vehicle, refused to wait for their attorney, subsequently released.

Keep in mind that the CAPE & ISLANDS depend on immigrant labor for the SUMMER TOURIST SEASON. In the past, we've taken a number of sight seeing tours conducted by students on summer vacations - they're wonderful! Knowledgeable about the history & the area because they return season after season. Business owners were already complaining about not having enough help. Who do you think cooks your meals? cleans the toilets?

They're kids working summer jobs! Likely not paid well & there's a severe housing shortage so they're likely cramped together with many others in what Americans would consider sub-standard housing.
