This week’s stock market dive and tariff debacle exposed Donald Trump—again—as a chaotic, dishonest, and fundamentally incompetent person.
And yes, some in the legacy media acknowledged the damage. But it’s not just what they report—it’s how they report it. Even when they’re critical, they keep sane-washing Trump, always leaving open the possibility that his constant bullshit is part of some calculated, coherent strategy.
Trump has no clothes. So when will the legacy media say it?
After the bleach cures for COVID, the “immigrants eating pets” tirade in Springfield, the stolen election lies, and now a disastrous economic policy that reads like it was drafted by ChatGPT—we’re still seeing headlines like:
- “Will Trump’s tariff policy pay off?” — CNN Business
- “Trump’s bold trade move shakes markets” — Bloomberg
- “Trump’s hardball economic strategy: risky, but potentially effective” — CBS News
This kind of coverage gives the illusion that we might be watching a master negotiator executing a plan—when in reality, we’re seeing a guy bluff through a crisis so he can get back to the golf course while the country burns around him.
One day, the tariffs are a negotiating tool. The next, they’re about national security. Then fentanyl. Then inflation. Then back to China. None of it makes sense—and still, the press acts like it might be chess, when it’s really blackjack with a guy yelling “hit me” at 21.
Remember how they treated Kamala Harris in 2024?
- “Scripted” – CNN and NYT described Harris’s campaign as tightly controlled, emphasizing prepared remarks over unscripted moments.
- “Avoiding the press” – NBC and Axios noted that Harris limited interviews and press conferences during key stretches of the campaign.
- “Lacking depth” – CBS and NYT reported that Harris offered few detailed policy plans, prompting critiques about clarity and specificity.
Story after story dissected what she hadn’t said, how few interviews she’d done, what she failed to spell out—even while Trump rambled about enemies and speculated about Arnold Palmer’s genitalia.
It seems like ancient history now, but the truth is: that double standard helped put Trump back in power.
And now that he’s back, it’s only getting worse.
He’s dismantling the government. Sabotaging the economy. Threatening the press. Weaponizing lawsuits. And the legacy media? They’re folding.
- The Washington Post gutted its editorial board after pulling its endorsement of Harris.
- CBS and ABC News have paid—or are preparing to pay—Trump millions to settle bogus defamation suits.
- CNN pushed out longtime anchor Jim Acosta because Trump didn’t like him.
He’s not just testing the free press. He’s breaking it.
That’s why COURIER exists.
We don’t “both sides” fascism. We don’t retreat in the face of threats. And we don’t sanitize propaganda for clicks.
We tell the truth—on TikTok, on Instagram, in inboxes, and in 11 battleground states—because someone has to.
We can’t count on legacy outlets to tell the Truth about Trump. But we CAN count on you.
In solidarity,
The COURIER Team
