🌎 Interested in joining your Sierra Club chapter?
For more than 130 years, Sierra Club has been the gathering place for millions of activists and volunteers to fight for the places, people, and planet we all love.
“This community makes me feel safe and proud,”
says Camile Alexander, reflecting on her volunteer experience with the Northeast Florida Sierra Club Chapter.
From protecting 439 parks and monuments to retiring 382 coal plants across the nation, we work to ensure all people benefit from clean air, fresh water, a stable climate, and a direct connection to nature.
It’s never been more clear that our power comes from everyday people coming together.
With 64 local chapters nationwide, we’ve built a strong community of neighbors, friends, students, retirees, and more who join together to organize at the local, state, and national level.
Ready to make a bigger impact this Earth Month?
Get inspired by volunteers who found community with their local Sierra Club chapter.
“I get to be around people that are passionate about the same things that I am.”
“We just take every opportunity to connect with people. And we’ve had so much fun doing that.”
“I really do love organizing large community events. It helps me to maintain hope for this Earth overall.”
These are just some of the incredible things that volunteers are saying. With so much at stake, our individual efforts can seem fragmented and small, but by working side-by-side with our neighbors we can build a stronger, more united movement. This Earth Month, discover the community at your local chapter!
As Jacob Stern from the Maine Chapter says, “We’ve gone through some dark times as a country and being part of a community that’s fighting for positive change helped me deal with some of those darkest moments.”
