Imagine you’re a homeowner in good standing with your insurance company. Then, when disaster strikes, the insurance company refuses to help, delays, and denies benefits — all while you’re struggling to keep your family safe. The survivors of the Eaton and Palisades fires in California have said that’s exactly what State Farm is putting them through. And to top it off, now State Farm is trying to hike insurance rates too. The survivors are desperately trying to convince the California insurance commissioner to investigate the company, help expedite payments, and take immediate action to assist in resolving outstanding claims. There are more climate-driven disasters every year, from California to the Gulf South, and from the Heartland to New England. So no matter where you live, we need your voice to send a strong message — insurers must honor their commitments to customers. In solidarity, Rick Morris (he/him) |
