Sunday’s Great News That’s Awful For Musk and Trump

Sunday’s Great News That’s Awful For Musk and Trump

Onward!

Before we start another week of Musk and Trump’s constant madness, I’m happy to be able to share more good news today. I hope it gives you at least a bit of relief in these trying times, and proves there are brave folks everywhere fighting alongside us against this tyranny.

Hundreds of peaceful “Tesla Takedown” protests took place worldwide yesterday. Dem Rep. Pramila Jayapal joined an event in Seattle, where she gave a fiery speech. Jayapal called Elon Musk an “unelected billionaire who is destroying our country,” and said, “Musk and the Department Of Greed and Evil—that’s what DOGE is … have got to go.”

In Greenwich, CT, there was an incredibly touching moment at Dem Sen. Chris Murphy’s town hall. Seven-year-old Charlotte Paone bravely took the mic to advocate for “free lunch for all” in schools, saying: “I don't want my friends to go hungry in school, or have to be embarrassed by telling their teacher or the lunch lady.”

Murphy then invited Charlotte to the front, where he sat down to meet her at eye level. “We exist in this world to help other people,” Murphy told her. “To help people who are less fortunate … That's why all these people are here today, because they want to live in a world where we have a government that looks out for everybody.”

Applauding Charlotte for speaking out, Murphy said: “I bet you, because of your question … everybody in this room is gonna work a little bit harder to make that kind of world.”

Not far from Austin, TX, Dem US Rep. Greg Casar held a town hall in GOP Rep. Chip Roy’s district. Behind Casar, organizers had placed a cardboard cutout of Roy at a table. They even gave the cutout a glass of water. Casar told the audience: “If Republican Members of Congress are going to run away, then I think it’s up to Democratic Members of Congress to show up.”

RFK JR:

Dr. Peter Marks, the top vaccine official at the Department of Health and Human Services, has resigned in a dramatic rebuke of agency head Bob Kennedy. “Truth and transparency are not desired by the Secretary,” Dr. Marks wrote in his resignation letter. “But rather he wishes subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies.”

GOP Rep. Don Bacon (R-NEBRASKA) slammed JD Vance’s trip to Greenland, saying: “Let’s stop the stupid Greenland talk … We look dumb all over the world and we sound like Russia … Let’s treat our allies with decency and save the bullying for dictators who invade their neighbors.”

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen also criticized Vance’s Greenland propaganda presser, saying: “We do not appreciate the tone in which it is being delivered. This is not how you speak to your close allies.”

In case you missed it, Hillary Clinton penned a scathing op-ed in The New York Times this week titled “This is Just Dumb,” featuring an image of Pete Hegseth. Clinton wrote: “Don’t let the swagger fool you. Mr. Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth (of group chat fame) are apparently more focused on performative fights over wokeness than preparing for real fights with America’s adversaries.”

Speaking of Pete Hegseth, this week our Watchdog Coalition sent 22,000 letters urging Congress to demand his resignation. Since November, we’ve made tens of thousands of calls, and sent more than a whopping 250,000 letters to the House and Senate. 250,000! We’re taking on DOGE, fighting for Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and so much more.

These are the kind of measurable results you can expect from us—every single day. Momentum is on our side, but right now we need all hands on deck.

100% of our funding comes from paid subscriptions on Substack. We have no billionaire bosses telling us to play nice with Trump, and we remain ad-free. So if you haven’t already, please join us as a paid subscriber today:

No matter how you subscribe, thanks for all you do.

Onward!
