Exclusive: Canadian MP Blasts Trump's Latest Threats Against Canada

In an exclusive interview with MeidasTouch, Canadian MP Charlie Angus fires back at Trump, warning that Trump’s threats are only fueling Canada’s resistance.

Canadian MP Charlie Angus is back on MeidasTouch with a blunt message for Donald Trump: Canada isn’t interested in his authoritarian delusions. After Trump continued to claim that Canada should become the “51st state” and that Canadians would love it because they’d get “better health coverage,” Angus fired back, holding up his Canadian health card. “I just walk into a hospital and get free coverage,” he said. “Either Trump doesn’t understand what he’s talking about, or this is a malignant threat.”

Angus made it clear that Trump’s rhetoric is backfiring, uniting Canadians across political parties in opposition. He also warned about the disturbing parallels between Trump’s praise for dictators like Putin and his threats against allies. “This isn’t funny anymore. This is a man siding with the rise of gangster politics,” Angus said. He also called for Elections Canada to investigate Elon Musk’s interference, warning that the same forces undermining U.S. democracy are now targeting Canada.

And to Trump directly, Angus had a clear message: “You should be ashamed. If you think Canada is going to be sucked into your MAGA nightmare, think again.”
