Care in Action

On January 20th, Donald Trump and his administration will take office, and their disregard for health care will have wide-reaching consequences. The President-elect has nominated TV show personality Dr. Mehmet Oz to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and Republicans are already proposing cuts to health care to give tax breaks to big corporations and the ultra‑wealthy.

More than 1 in 5 Americans are covered by Medicaid and CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program), the primary comprehensive health care programs funded by the federal government. These programs ensure that all Americans, regardless of income, have access to the basic right of health care.

Simply put, cutting these programs would be devastating for millions of Americans.

Take a moment now to contact your representatives and demand they protect Medicaid and expand health care access:

We need affordable health care to ensure all Americans have access to the care they deserve. These proposed cuts to Medicaid would take away millions of Americans’ access to health care, and put that money in the pockets of corporations instead.

Medicare provides health care to over 67 million elderly and disabled Americans— and it’s on the chopping block too. Restricting Medicare access would be severely detrimental for caregivers who rely on Medicare or Medicaid for their own health care and for the families they care for.

Can you take a minute to contact your representatives and demand they protect Medicaid, a vital lifeline for millions of caregivers and families who need care?
