RNC appeals pro-voting ruling over undated and misdated ballots

  • The Republican National Committee asked the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to fully review a case over undated and wrongly dated mail-in ballots. Republicans want to disqualify timely received ballots just for missing a correct handwritten date on the outer return envelope.

Ohio AG approves summary for proposed pro-voting amendment

  • Ohio Attorney General David Yost (R) approved the petition summary for the proposed Ohio Voters Bill of Rights amendment after the state Supreme Court ruled he unlawfully rejected the proposed ballot measure months ago.

Pro-democracy candidate wins Oregon congressional race

  • Oregon state Rep. Janelle Bynum (D) defeated first-term Republican Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer in a highly contested race to represent Oregon’s 6th congressional district, which contains southeast Portland.

  • Bynum participated in Democracy Docket’s 2024 candidate Q&A interview series in September and discussed how she strives to expand voter registration, improve voter education and protect reproductive freedoms while in office.
