Public Citizen: determination, not despair

There’s no sugarcoating what happened last night.

We take very seriously what Donald Trump has said he will do and who he has shown us he is.

But you already know that and we don’t need to repeat it.

At this moment, here’s the most important thing we want to say:

Each of us individually — and all of us collectively — can and should be distressed. But we must respond to the moment with determination, not despair.

We all need some time to analyze what happened and, more fundamentally, to process it emotionally.

Yet as we do this, we have to know where we’ll land — determined to fight cruelty, grift, and a rush to climate chaos, determined to intensify the fights for justice, democracy, and a livable planet.

You’ll be hearing from us soon, and frequently, about our plans and how we can join together to make a difference at this perilous moment.

Right now, we’re asking you to join us in a commitment to respond with determination, not despair — to fight Trump and his dictatorial agenda with all we’ve got, not to give in.

Click to add your name now.

Thanks for taking action.

For the future of our country,
