What does your morning routine look like? For most of us, it's probably some variation of showering, brushing your teeth, staring at the coffee machine and willing it to brew faster, and having a nice breakfast while you gather your thoughts and strength for the day ahead. Now, I know that everyone's routine is different, but we all know what happens when this sacred ritual gets interrupted in some way; maybe you woke up too late and didn't have time to eat. Suddenly, the simplest of tasks seem much more daunting because you can't think about anything other than how hungry you are. Isn't that the worst? For millions of Americans, this is unfortunately their daily struggle; starting your day not only without the energy necessary for your body to function, but not knowing when or where your next meal is coming from. It's a shame that in the wealthiest nation in the history of the world, we have millions going hungry every day. But we can do something about it. I'd like to ask you to stand with our efforts to help our neighbors in need and make a donation to the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Donate Today Every year, I walk 43 miles from Springfield to Greenfield to raise awareness for the plight of food insecurity and to raise funds for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts as part of Monte's March. It's a great way to support the most vulnerable in our community, take action to fight the scourge of hunger, and set an example for the rest of the country. Hunger is not inevitable. By taking action today, we are proving that we can beat it together, one meal at a time. Every dollar we raise goes directly to ensuring that our neighbors no longer suffer in silence. So please, support this cause generously if you can. Donate Today Yours in the fight, Jim |
