Israeli Forces Target Kamal Adwan Hospital, Injuring Its Director Hussam Abu Safiyya

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, was injured in an Israeli airstrike while inspecting patients inside the facility. This attack is the latest in a series of assaults on the hospital, which has been targeted daily during Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Dr Husam Abu Safia said he will return to duty no matter what the cost

Less than a month ago, Israeli forces besieged Kamal Adwan Hospital, detaining several doctors, including Dr. Abu Safiyya, along with displaced residents and patients for interrogation. Although Dr. Abu Safiyya was released shortly after, his son was killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza. The strike was part of Israel’s genocide.

Since October 5, northern Gaza, including the densely populated Jabalia refugee camp, has been subjected to relentless Israeli attacks.

International organizations, including the United Nations, have issued urgent calls for a temporary cessation of Israeli attacks to allow for the evacuation of civilians, but these pleas have gone unanswered.

On Friday, Israeli drones dropped bombs on the hospital’s emergency department and power generators, injuring members of the medical staff. When hospital teams attempted to rescue those wounded in the initial strike, the drones launched a second attack, further endangering medical personnel and patients.

The sustained targeting of Kamal Adwan Hospital highlights Israel’s continues war crimes in Gaza, as hospitals, medical workers, and civilians continue to be Israel’s main targets.
