Gun violence is the LEADING cause of death for children in our nation. It’s not car crashes. It’s not cancer. It’s guns.
Far too often, children are killed in unintentional shootings where a firearm is left unlocked and loaded. It’s a horrible truth, and we must call on our leaders to take action to fix this epidemic of children unintentionally hurting themselves and others with guns.
Today is National Injury Prevention Day. Here at GIFFORDS, we are working day in and out to help pass safe storage laws in every community across our nation. When safe storage laws are enacted and properly implemented, they have the power to save a child’s life.
