150 billionaire families spent $1.9 BILLION on the 2024 cycle

According to Open Secrets, outside spending in U.S. elections hit a record-breaking $4.5 billion in 2024, with more than half of that being dark money from super PACs. As Justice Democrats Rep. Ro Khanna pointed out, more than $250 million of that went to congressional candidates:

Not only that, but Americans for Tax Fairness found that 150 billionaire families poured a record-breaking $1.9 billion into the 2024 election — which is $700 million more than billionaires spent on the 2020 election.

It’s undeniable: Citizens United enabled billionaires and super PACs to buy elections and influence in Congress, and it’s getting worse every cycle.

The Democratic Party has become much too comfortable accepting help from the wealthiest few and corporate special-interest groups while losing touch with working class people. But we’re working to change that with your help.

Justice Democrats is actively recruiting everyday working Americans — nurses, principals, union workers, and community organizers — to run for Congress in order to transform our economy and democracy, but we can’t do it without grassroots support from people like you.
