The world watched in horror on Sunday as video emerged of Palestinians burning alive after Israel bombed a hospital tent camp in Gaza.1
It's just the latest unspeakable atrocity committed with U.S. weapons and political support.
Enough is enough. We must act now to stop the slaughter.
Senator Bernie Sanders is leading the way by forcing a Senate vote to block $20 billion in arms sales to Israel.2
In the words of Waleed Shahid, a leader in the Uncommitted Movement, "The image of hospital patients, tethered to IVs as American-supplied Israeli bombs ignite fires around them in Gaza, may well stand as the defining image of this horror."3
A comprehensive new report from researchers at Brown University found that 114,000 people have been killed since the start of Israel's war on Gaza, the majority women and children.4
In that time, the U.S. has provided Israel $17.9 billion in military aid, including weapons, ammunition, vehicles, and bombs.5
And with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expanding the war by invading Lebanon and openly preparing an attack on Iran, the situation is on the verge of spiraling even further out of control.
Make no mistake: There is no way that Israel could inflict such destruction on its neighbors without the weapons and political support of the United States.
We've mobilized over 100,000 people to urge Congress and the Biden administration to use all available leverage to demand a ceasefire, and now we're turning up the heat to support Sen. Bernie Sanders's resolution to stop the $20 billion weapons sale to Israel.
With gratitude,
The team at Demand Progress Action
