Sign the petition: The right to travel for abortion care is "under siege"

 

An abortion rights group is challenging Alabama’s abortion restrictions — with the right to travel for abortion care at the center of the case.¹ Several states with severe restrictions want to punish people who travel for care AND the people or organizations that assist in this travel. This is just one of the right-wing’s extreme policies trying to ban abortion across the country.

One critical way to fight back is for President Biden to take executive action to protect abortion rights — including protections for people who need to travel for abortion care and access to abortion medication. There’s no time to wait with Republicans rolling back rights every opportunity they get.

Sign the petition: Urge President Biden to issue executive actions protecting easy, safe access to abortion care in America — including protecting interstate travel and access to abortion medication.

There are at least eleven measures President Biden can institute via executive order to protect abortion rights in America including protecting medication abortion, issuing guidance detailing Americans’ right to travel across state lines for an abortion, strengthening health privacy laws to ensure that provider and patient data cannot be shared with law enforcement, and revoking Trump-era executive orders that restrict abortion rights.²

This year, we’ve already seen the Supreme Court uphold a near total abortion ban in Idaho and Arizona’s Supreme Court revive an abortion ban from the 1800s.³

Conservatives are taking drastic measures to ban abortion across the country, criminalize miscarriages, limit birth control access, and much more. There’s no more time to wait, President Biden must take action.
