The latest maternal mortality data

A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) finds the number of US women dying from pregnancy-related issues remains at crisis level. The persistent racial and ethnic disparities reflect how systems and policies continue to fail people of color, especially our most vulnerable populations. Read March of Dimes response to the data and what we’re doing about it.>>

Reducing risk this Preeclampsia Awareness Month

It Starts With Mom is with moms at every step of their journey—from planning to pregnancy to postpartum. As part of that work, we just launched a new educational campaign Low Dose, Big Benefits to help encourage the parents-to-be in your life to speak to their healthcare professional to see if they’re at risk for preeclampsia and if low dose aspirin (also called baby aspirin) is right for them. For many moms-to-be, low dose aspirin can help reduce the risk of preeclampsia and keep baby and mom safe during pregnancy. Read about how to reduce the risks for preeclampsia this Preeclampsia Awareness Month. >>

ICYMI: It Starts With Mom Live

As part of our It Starts With Mom campaign, we recently held a conversation with parenting influencer Mariana Umana (Instagram and TikTok) and OB-GYN influencer Dr. Nicole Sparks (TikTok and Instagram) about the importance of talking about vaccines with pregnant people and those thinking about becoming pregnant. We tackled awareness about basic vaccination facts, misinformation, cultural and personal beliefs, and encouraged everyone to work together to build a healthier community, one vaccination and immunization at a time. It Starts With Mom is sponsored by HCA Healthcare, Clearblue, GoldBug, Philips Avent, and Sanofi.

Gerber sponsors March for Babies for the second year

Gerber is supporting March for Babies as a national sponsor this year, connecting their global brand with our nationwide movement for healthy moms and babies. Gerber, the leader in early childhood nutrition for almost 100 years, has supported March of Dimes since 2018 in alignment with our shared belief that healthy babies start with healthy parents and healthy communities. In 2023, Gerber sponsored March for Babies for the first time, reporting a record number of employee involvement in our campaign. In addition to their sponsorship in 2024, Gerber is activating onsite at five March for Babies walks to engage local communities with product giveaways and materials that celebrate moms.
