CENTER FOR AUTO SAFETY: Selling Unicorns 🦄

It's a lemon on wheels. It's our logo.

Cutting the Crap

The AI hype machine is alive and well in the land of cars, with automakers, industry shills, and wannabe tech entrants waxing non-stop about how we’re all going to be saved by our new digital overlords.  In this week’s podcast, we cut through the gaslighting, aspirational nonsense, and downright lies coming from an industry that has attracted hundreds of billions of dollars in investment but has yet to produce a product that is both viable and safe.

And in this week’s news, we talk about recalls, particularly NHTSA’s new feature that allows consumers to look up recalls and other important safety information using license plate numbers instead of the VIN.

Episode notes

Artificial Intelligence is the pet rock of today... if the pet rock could hallucinate a term paper. Or in the case of auto safety cause stockholders to hallucinate a future where Tesla creates a robotaxi. This week Tesla is sued for fraud (clutches pearls) and a Waymo drives drunk through Phoenix. Congress goes after auto makers for handing over all of your data without a subpoena and using slave labor. In a new feature focused on gaslighting we talk about the nonsense from Jeff Farah, shill for the AV industry. Plus some recalls.

Thank you for being a part of our movement.
