Republicans in the Senate tanked the border deal that they had demanded, following orders from Donald Trump. Republican Senator James Lankford, one of the lead architects of the bill, admitted after the failure that a popular conservative media figure had actually threatened him several weeks ago, saying that he would "Destroy" the Senator if he passed the legislation. Lankford wouldn't reveal who the commentator was, but given the breadth of the conservative media, the "who" doesn't really matter. Farron Cousins discusses this.
