A shocking new report has exposed how Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been engaging in naked, outrageous corruption for years upon years. Billionaire Harlan Crow has been providing Thomas with luxury vacations, private jet trips and superyacht cruises, including a week every (!) summer at Crow’s private resort in the Adirondacks. None of this has ever been included on a financial disclosure form and violates laws passed after Watergate. Corruption accusations have followed Thomas throughout his tenure on the Supreme Court, but this is an unprecedented violation of ethics and the public trust.

Kansas lawmakers override governor's veto to force through bill requiring genital inspections of children to play sports
There are all of two — TWO (2!) — teens who identify as trans in the Kansas school sport system, but these heartless bigots in the Kansas legislature have been trying for THREE YEARS to pass a law specifically bullying these two children — and they've finally succeeded. It's transparent projection; Republicans accuse the LGBTQ community of "grooming children" while they obsess over kids' genitals and spend every waking moment trying to police their thoughts, emotions, and identities. Monstrous behavior from so-called adults.

Idaho Gov. Little signs draconian bill restricting out of state travel for minors for abortion
Late at night and with little fanfare, the governor of Idaho signed one of the most preposterous anti-abortion bills in the country into law. This bill would make it a felony to take a minor out of state to receive abortion care, and would even allow the father of said child to sue abortion providers out of state. The GOP has not bothered to explain how you would go about enforcing a law like this, and it is almost certainly unconstitutional, but who can bother with details when you've got teenagers to terrorize?

America is once again being subjected to another of Trump strategist Steve Bannon's harebrained but deeply evil schemes. This time, Bannon has been encouraging prominent anti-vaxx crackpot RFK Jr. to run for President against Biden as a "chaos" candidate and to rouse up anti-vax sentiment across the country. He joins Marianne Williamson as never-gonna-happen longshot candidates looking for an excuse to get in the news for a couple days, though we have to admit an Ivermectin vs. Healing Crystals debate would make for some excellent television.

Colorado state intelligence agency spies on students protesting gun violence
Apparently Colorado has a "state intelligence agency" and it is now being used to monitor student groups planning walkouts to protest gun violence and calling the principal to snitch on them. This "intelligence hub" was set up in the wake of 9/11 to "streamline domestic intelligence gathering," which turned out to mean profiling and spying on Muslim people. Now it's being used to track everyone from environmental groups, pro-choice demonstrators, and racial justice activists. It's very disturbing to see that the intelligence deep state treats any group demanding a better America as an enemy to be spied on — wouldn't it be a better use of public resources to just DO SOMETHING about gun violence?

Israeli forces carry out violent raid at al-Aqsa Mosque
In a horrifying show of sacrilege and disrespect, Israeli police stormed the al-Aqsa mosque during Ramadan prayers and began viciously beating Palestinians at prayer and shooting them with rubber bullets and tear gas. 12 were injured and over 400 were "arrested." The Arab League has called an emergency meeting in response to the attack. It's no coincidence that the level of Israeli violence against Palestinians has risen sharply since Netanyahu and his far-right-wing coalition have taken power.
Gender fluid teen pushes back against "false" viral story their mom gave to conservative outlet
Yet another instance of right-wing "journalism" exposing the horrors of the trans agenda has been exposed as a steaming pile of bullshit. Emily Yoffe published a piece in the right-wing trash rag "Free Press" about a Missouri mother who now regretted giving her teen puberty blockers and accused the hospital of pressuring her into getting them. Of course, none of that turned out to be true; the teen in question took to Twitter and shared THEIR side of the story, which Yoffe was not interested in hearing. The fact that they need fraud to come up with even one instance of the false narrative that Republicans are propagating to persecute trans youth tells you all you need to know about the utter bullshit of their position.

Today’s Action: Tell the Atlanta City Council to stop the development of Cop City!
A massive police training center set to be built in Atlanta is STILL threatening 381 acres of publicly owned forest, despite massive push back from the public. Brave environmental protesters have been setting up camp with tents in the trees for months, risking arrest and prosecution in defense of green space and common sense. Numerous protesters have been detained for protecting the forest, many about to be slapped with felony-level domestic terrorism charges so the federal government can make an example of them. One protester, 26-year-old Tortuguita, was fatally shot 13 times by police on Jan. 18, in what other activists are calling a state-sanctioned murder.
There is zero reason that a privately owned, corporate-funded tactical police training ground is important enough to bulldoze publicly owned forest land… let alone kill people over. Oh, did we mention the price of the project? Nearly $90 million.
With widespread calls for decreased police funding and increased climate action, the proposal to raze forest land for such a facility is grossly out of touch. There are plenty of initiatives that officials in Atlanta could be working on for the betterment of their residents — but instead, constituents’ voices have been ignored in favor of even more deference to law enforcement. Ongoing protests from residents in the area have made it clear that this is NOT what the community wants. One recent survey showed 98% of residents OPPOSE the building of Cop City. How long will it take until Atlanta council members wake up and listen to the actual people they were elected to serve?
Call the Atlanta City Council office at 404-330-6030 or email an Atlanta City Council member and demand they revoke the Cop City permit!
