I want to make sure you know what’s going on in Summer Lee’s race. In just 3 days, the far-right Super PAC AIPAC has dropped over $1 million attacking Summer, spending on behalf of her Republican opponent.

AIPAC wants to make an example out of Summer — if you’re young, progressive, Black, and dare to speak out about Palestinian human rights — they’ll crush you. Even if it means handing an extremist Republican a seat in Congress.

We won’t back down in the face of AIPAC’s smear campaign, but we do have to work that much harder now to make sure we have the resources to fight back.

Not a single Democratic Party leader has condemned AIPAC’s behavior, despite claiming they’re fighting for a Democratic majority. But Justice Democrats has been on the ground with Summer Lee from day one.

If Democratic leaders don’t step in, they’ll set a dangerous precedent and implicitly support AIPAC’s actions. We know what the consequences will be — far-right Super PACs like AIPAC will be emboldened to attack progressives with no recourse.

While some in the Democratic establishment blame progressives for being divisive, we’re the ones truly fighting for the soul of the Democratic Party.
