BIG WIN IN COURT: 56,000 new voters in this swing state

We fund voter protection

This is HUGE news: Thanks to a recent appeals court ruling, North Carolina now has tens of thousands of new possible voters.

The court expanded the scope of those able to register and vote to include 56,000 people serving punishments for felony convictions, but who aren’t behind bars.

In a state like North Carolina, experts say that influx of voters could make a huge difference.

And with a major Senate election coming up in this swing state this year, that could just influence the tone of our national politics.

Democrats hold only the slimmest of majorities in the Senate right now, so we’ve got to fight for every single seat.

A win for voting rights like this one is good news for anyone who’s pro-democracy … which means it’s bad news for Republicans.

Power the Vote needs your help to fund voter protection staff in North Carolina – who will fight to make sure every single one of these voters has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

But it’s not easy and it’s not cheap.

We Fund Voter Protection

In 2020, we ran the Democratic Party’s Voter Protection Program in Georgia, when the state flipped blue for the first time in nearly 30 years.

We pioneered a new model of voter protection, built on sustained investments and long-lasting relationships.

Now, we’re building on that success and adapting the Georgia model to fight voter suppression in other states.
