Nancy Pelosi started campaigning against Justice Democrat Kina Collins LAST year, more than 9 months before Kina’s primary against corporate Democrat Danny Davis. Here’s Pelosi on the campaign trail for Davis in September:
But Pelosi has been campaigning against us for even longer than that. Here she is campaigning for anti-abortion, pro-NRA Democrat Henry Cuellar back in 2020.
Pelosi has gone all-in against us in 2022. She’s donated to our opponents and campaigned for anti-abortion Cueller (again) and corporate-backed Davis. It’s clear: the Democratic establishment is afraid of what will happen if we expand the Squad and add more progressive fighters alongside AOC, Rashida Tlaib, and Cori Bush.
Pelosi is supporting Davis and spending time campaigning for him instead of focusing on protecting the Democratic majority in the House for the same reason she supported Cuellar in 2020 and 2022. Even though Cuellar obstructed the Democratic agenda, Pelosi’s priority is to defeat Justice Democrats.
More than passing transformative legislation, more than keeping control of Congress away from right-wing extremists, Pelosi cares #1 about protecting her corporate donors and the status quo.
Kina Collins is running to be a representative of the people — and unlike Congressman Davis, she won’t fight for the interests of health insurance companies, the real estate industry, and big corporations. We knew that Kina would be heavily outspent, but we didn’t expect Nancy Pelosi to jump in last September, so early on in the race, to chase down big donations for Davis.
Nancy Pelosi is campaigning and raising money for Davis, because she knows that Kina Collins is a formidable primary opponent. But we can’t raise the type of mega donor dollars that Pelosi can.
Can you split a contribution to Justice Democrats and Kina Collins right now, so we can defeat the establishment? Our chances of sending Kina to Congress go way up if we can bring in a massive wave of grassroots donations right now. Can you chip in? We only have 15 days left before Kina’s primary.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
