2 months to pass a bill to fight catastrophic climate change with Democrats in the majority…but it’s looking extremely unlikely.
As long as the Democratic Party accepts massive donations from the fossil fuel lobby and Wall Street firms that profit from oil and gas, we’re not going to see the big changes we need to address the climate crisis.
If we stop settling for just any corporate Democrat and start electing more Justice Democrats, we can pass anything from Biden’s climate agenda to a full Green New Deal.
The only way we can transform the Democratic Party and elect more members of the Squad is with your support. Can you chip in $10 right now to fuel our work to elect bold progressive fighters like Summer Lee on May 17 and Jessica Cisneros on May 24?
The choice is clear when you look at our primary races.
Summer Lee has organized to protect the environment and battle polluters in western Pennsylvania. Her opponent made money at a financial firm getting rich by steering investments to oil and gas companies. Now, Big Oil is funding her opponent’s campaign.
Jessica Cisneros is an outspoken supporter of a Green New Deal, while her opponent, Henry Cuellar, rakes in huge donations from the fossil fuel industry and consistently opposes climate change legislation.
If we elect our full slate of candidates, including Summer and Jessica, we will continue to change the political terrain in Congress, just like it changed when we elected AOC in 2018 and the Squad started getting to work on Capitol Hill.
We rely exclusively on grassroots donations to elect Justice Democrats and fight for real steps to avert climate catastrophe. So, we need your help today to ensure we have a Democratic Party responsive to the people, not their corporate donors.
Thank you for being in this fight with us.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
