We set an ambitious goal for our end-of-month fundraiser, and thanks to your help, we can announce…
We surpassed our goal!
We couldn't be more grateful to everyone who lent their strength to our progressive veteran-led movement.
Today is also the 19th anniversary of when President Bush landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln and then gave a speech declaring "victory" in Iraq.
Yet the war wouldn't officially end for another eight years, and to this day, thousands of American troops are still deployed to Iraq. As the war and occupation have stretched on, so did the number of people who paid with their lives, their health, and their youth. Bush's premature declaration of victory was a slap in the face of service members and military families who continue to sacrifice.
And while you helped us accomplish our goal this month, there's more work to do. It's for this exact reason Common Defense exists: so no other generation of veterans needs to suffer through another forever war.
But, our mission is only possible because of supporters like you. So, if you are able, please continue to support our work.
Thank you again,
Common Defense
