Donald Trump needs to be held fully accountable for his role in inciting the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2020. As each day passes, my colleagues and their staff on the Congressional Committee investigating the attack are exposing the truth. In the latest revelation, the Committee is alleging in court documents Trump and his cronies engaged in a potential criminal conspiracy to prevent Congress from certifying the presidential election results. But, don’t forget that Congressional Republicans led by Kevin McCarthy adamantly refused to participate in the work of the Committee. Deep down, they know Trump’s treachery must be exposed — but they are cowards at heart. The GOP will shut down the Committee as one of their first actions if they take back Congress in November. McCarthy and his House cronies like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, Jim Jordan, and Matt Gaetz are clear: They’ll disband the January 6 immediately the Speaker’s gavel is in McCarthy’s grip.
