Former DNC chair joins corporate lobbying firm

Justice Democrats

Former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Tom Perez has taken a job as a partner at an anti-union law and lobbying firm — continuing the revolving door between corporate interests and the Democratic Party.

Perez’s new firm represents dozens of corporations and trade associations, including the oil and gas industry, credit card companies, and Wall Street. And as Obama’s former Secretary of Labor, Tom Perez is joining this firm despite its history of anti-union work, such as defending employers in unfair labor practice allegations and fighting union organizing campaigns.

The DNC is too often a revolving door of corporate money, special interests, and lobbying groups, all working together to stop the progressive agenda put forth by Justice Democrats in Congress.

If we want to defeat the status quo system that benefits the wealthiest of Americans, we need to elect working-class progressives powered by people, not corporate campaign contributions. Will you chip in towards our movement to transform the Democratic party and fight these corporate interests?

Every Justice Democrat on our slate and in Congress is a threat to the relationship between special interests, corporations, and the Democratic party. And now, with Tom Perez as a partner at one of DC’s most powerful law and lobbying firms, our work to challenge corporate Democrats influenced by Big Money is even more important.

We’re ready to elect a wave of Justice Democrats to Congress who will fight for green union jobs, the right to organize, and policies that will uplift working Americans. That is why we’re asking, will you contribute $10 to help elect the Justice Democrats that will help transform the Democratic Party?

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
