Horrific

 

On March 29th, 13-year-old Adam Toledo was shot and killed by Chicago police officer Eric Stillman.

For nearly three weeks after, the prosecutor, Chicago Police Department, AND Mayor Lori Lightfoot all claimed that Adam was holding a firearm when it happened.

That was a lie.

The horrific bodycam video (that we won’t share, but was published last night) proves it. 

Adam was compliant. His hands were up. He wasn’t holding a gun.

That didn’t stop them from trying to conceal the truth from the public and sell us all a false story. 

It’s an utter disgrace. And all of the people involved should be held accountable. 

Start by firing the prosecutor who lied.

The Mayor should resign.

Then fire AND charge the cop who executed a child in cold blood. 

We won’t settle for anything less.

Please join us today in demanding real justice and accountability in Chicago. We need prosecutors and politicians who serve THE PEOPLE, not police.

We need to say it again, Frank, even though it breaks our hearts: Adam Toledo was a child.

He was in 7th grade. Barack Obama was about to be elected president the year Adam was born.

And he was UNARMED. Compliant. 

They executed him anyway.

This is a sobering reminder of how badly we need to dismantle this racist “justice" system — from the top to the bottom.

Cops need to face real, severe consequences for their violent crimes.

Crooked prosecutors need to be held responsible when they lie on the stand to protect violent cops.

And politicians who are complicit in the violence against Black and brown communities have no business staying in office.
