It’s the day after and our birthday wish for the NRA is already coming true!

In a just announced settlement with New York’s Department of Financial Services, the NRA was fined $2.5 million and must stop its insurance business in New York for five years.

How did we get here? In 2017, Guns Down America partnered with Color of Change to stop two insurance companies from offering murder insurance policies for the NRA. These cynical plans were designed to protect “Stand Your Ground” murderers.

Thousands of you spoke out and the insurance companies listened. They halted their coverage, then the State of New York launched its investigation into the practice, which ended with the stiff penalties announced today.

This fine and settlement is a direct result of our movement’s work and we’re just getting started.
