BREAKING: Trump commutes Roger Stone's sentence

Donald Trump has engaged in countless abuses of office that are both self-serving and destructive to our rule of law. But this latest abuse might be the most galling yet. Trump just commuted the sentence of Roger Stone, a longtime crony who lied to Congress and threatened a witness to cover it up. Stone had been convicted on 7 counts of obstruction, false statements and witness tampering by a jury of his peers. And Stone’s lies were for one purpose – to protect Donald Trump from exposure of the Trump campaign’s efforts to communicate with Wikileaks and exploit the release of Russian-hacked emails targeting Hillary Clinton.  And with this commutation, Donald Trump is paying back that favor. Trump makes clear that there are two systems of justice in America: one for Trump's criminal friends, and one for everyone else. Trump is not going to stop abusing his office. He's not going to stop interfering in the justice system to protect his friends and punish his enemies. And he's not going to stop destroying the rule of law. So it's up to us.
