As a former bartender who worked in a bar a short walk away from a federal courthouse and a state capitol at a time when there were still "old school" attorneys and politicians (sometimes plying both trades at once) who drank their breakfast in the form of a Screwdriver because they assured me, "no one can smell vodka," there is absolutely no doubt that Pete Hegseth is HAM-MERED. He's got some major sibilance going on there, too. A television host who was sober would have recognized he was slurring and avoided making a complete ass of himself, but we're dealing with Pete Hegseth here. What you see is what you get: a cocky drunk completely out of his depth who is in a position that could get a lot of people hurt or worse. People voted for this. Worse, there are people who couldn't even be bothered to cast a vote against this stupidity. Was everybody drunk in 2024? That would explain some things.
