While I was putting this edition together, I dug through Kansas Senator Roger Marshall’s latest report to the FEC and found he had $809,806.46 in cash on hand as of October 14. In the first two weeks of October, he spent $112,281.56 more than he raised. I couldn’t find anyone else who has reported that. His Democratic opponent has raised more than $19 million. That’s fuel to keep me going strong for the next nine days.

I’m glad you’re in it with me. If someone you know is still on the fence about Trump and Republicans, send them a gift subscription, or carry us past Election Day by becoming a founding member.

Trump Is On A Losing Streak. Kansas Wants In.

What a small town in Colorado just did, what 225,000 nurses won in court, and the number in Roger Marshall’s FEC report nobody else has printed.

Thanks so much for joining me. I’m glad you’re here, because I have some great news for you today—starting with the fact there are only nine days until the midterms. But before we jump in, hit the ❤️ like and restack buttons to help us reach people who would otherwise never see the truth.

We are full speed ahead, still investigating Trump’s Senate candidates with more exclusives to come. And our Watchdog Coalition has been running an enormous social media campaign, dominating the trends with six hashtags this week on multiple platforms. All pushing people to vote, supporting Democrats, and slamming Trump’s Republicans.

No billionaires. No corporate influence. No nonsense. Everything we do is funded by this amazing community. So if you haven’t yet, join us as a paid subscriber today so we can sprint through the finish—and beyond. Let’s win this:

Kansas Has Trump Running Scared

On October 19, Trump flew to Park City, Kansas, for a rally with Sen. Roger Marshall—who is in what Cook Political Report rates a Toss-Up race with Democrat Adam Hamilton.

Judd Perry sells fuel at the Ottawa Co-Op in Ottawa, Kansas. Diesel has climbed to record highs since Trump started his war with Iran. “Before the conflict,” Perry told local news station KSHB 41, “a bushel of corn would buy two gallons of fuel. Now a bushel of corn doesn’t buy a gallon of fuel.”

At the rally, Trump promised farmers $8 billion to help with diesel. Of course, the Agriculture Department hasn’t said when the money goes out. Its announcement told farmers to set up a Login.gov account and wait. Jerry Hagstrom of DTN, a farm news service, reported that the payments won’t go out before the election. Trump is begging for their votes now, while promising a check later.

Hallie Jackson of NBC met a man in Kansas who has voted for Trump three times. He told her, “I can’t bring myself to vote for Roger Marshall, right now.”

Marshall’s latest report to the Federal Election Commission runs through October 14. It shows he had $809,806.46 cash on hand. I haven’t seen anyone else reporting that number anywhere. Hamilton’s report for the same period shows $2,874,363.74, more than three times as much. Hamilton has raised $19,175,044 this election to Marshall’s $6,862,104.

The last poll, from InsiderAdvantage on October 13 and 14, had Marshall at 48 and Hamilton at 47. Kansas last sent a Democrat to the Senate in 1932, but Hamilton can change that on November 3. Which is exactly what Trump is afraid of.

Zelensky Stood Firm. Trump’s Story

 Fell Apart.

In mid-October, in the middle of missions, Ukrainian soldiers started losing contact with their drones. These are the same ones that help shoot down Russia’s attack drones. They run off of Starshield, a military internet service run by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX. The US government pays for Ukraine to use it.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said any drone that went faster than 100 miles an hour was losing connection.

While the limit reportedly hindered Ukrainian strikes and air defenses, Musk and Trump were busy passing the buck. On October 14, Musk posted online that the limits to Starshield “are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS.” That means Trump. On October 19, Trump said, “I don’t know who it was, but I’d like to find out.” All he has to do is look in the mirror.

The Wall Street Journal revealed that Musk gave the order after talking with Trump. On Thursday, the Journal reported that Trump had called Musk and asked him to undo it. The White House denied that account. “The bottom line—he put it back,” Trump said.

On Saturday morning, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said the speeds were finally restored, more than a week after someone cut them. Zelensky never let up, and he won this round.

Nobody has owned up to giving the order. Everyone involved needs to be investigated. And electing a Democratic majority in Congress on November 3 is how we make it happen.

The Town That Unplugged Its Spy

 Cameras

In January 2024, the city of Lafayette in Colorado signed a five-year deal with Flock to install 30 cameras that photograph the license plate of every car that drives by. I pulled the minutes from that meeting. The deal was passed as a routine item on the agenda, with nobody debating it on the record.

Then people in town started pushing back. Chao Chen of DeFlock Lafayette put it plainly: “I just think it’s weird that you’re being tracked when you’ve done nothing wrong. They don’t need to know where I am at all times.” More than a dozen residents spoke out against the cameras at City Hall on October 6.

Councilor Adam Gianola didn’t hold back: “Boy, are we facing a time when warrantless searching is occurring from these cameras.”

Five days before that meeting, a federal judge in Oklahoma ruled a deputy violated a woman’s constitutional rights by searching Flock for her car without a warrant. Down the road in Denver, audit logs show police—mostly from out of state—ran more than 1,400 searches of the city’s Flock cameras marked “ICE” or “immigration” in under a year.

On October 20, the council voted unanimously to cut off the money. City staff will put covers over the cameras until Flock takes them down. Lafayette turned off all 30, thanks to people who stood up and said enough.

Nurses Took On Trump’s Door-

Knockers And Won

On August 31, Homeland Security told its agents to start questioning people about voting in nine states. Agents showed up at front doors in places including San Francisco and Kansas City, Missouri. Some carried guns.

The California Nurses Association and National Nurses United have more than 225,000 members, and a lot of them spend election season getting people to the polls. Once the agents started knocking, at least one nurse quit going to campaign events. Another said they won’t be a poll monitor this year.

The entire point of knocking on doors like this is to instill fear in communities, so fewer people vote and volunteer. Every nurse in these groups who stays home is one less person helping a neighbor vote. So on September 18, the nurses sued.

On October 21, Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín ruled for the nurses, ordering DHS to stop questioning likely citizens in those nine states. Her order lasts until polls close on Election Day.

Nurses beat Trump in 33 days. We only have nine left, and I’m spending every one of them helping to lead the fight. I’ve been at this since February 2016, and I’ve never felt more fired up. But we need all hands on deck now—more than ever—so we can deliver the blue tsunami America deserves.

A FEW OF MANY COMMENTS:

The people who already stood up this week didn’t ask if it was worth it. They just did the work. Nine days. Stay in it with us.

The people are rising. Believe it. Also, prepare for a lot of sh*t to follow.

"All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force." - George Orwell

More Orwell please!

Love Orwell and the quote, appropriate for the epoch.

Sadly, a lot of my friends quit attending protest rallies because of fear. I used to feel so safe and secure in America. The man in the White House has taken that away. His threats, intimidation and bully tactics have just worn thin with me. I continue to go to the protests because I refuse to live my life in fear. I read your substack every day, Scott, and it always gives me renewed energy to continue this resistance. If other everyday average citizens can fight this regime AND win, then I will continue to do my part as well. Keep fighting, America! Stay strong and stay safe! Vote BLUE in November!!

Every person who refuses to look away is part of how this ends. Let’s finish it together.

I'm a poll worker in the ruby red panhandle of Florida. We aren't really concerned about election interference from the feds here because this is one of their safe spaces. They may be more concerned if they knew how many INDs, NPAs and DEMs are showing up to vote. I'm hopeful that my congressional district somehow sends Gay Valimont to congress instead of that Shitler-sucking pig Jimmy Patronis.

Thanks for your tireless work. I often read stories and details from you that I don’t see anywhere else—and I consume a ton of news every day. I appreciate that you dig deep into sources that most others overlook and report out on that to help provide context and meaning for us. 💙👏

I am doing a lot for this election cycle! I donate everywhere I can (small donations under $100), I am picking up and delivering campaign signs in my community, door-knocking, hand-delivering candidate literature in communities and places that almost never get personal attention, I am a volunteer poll worker, I showed up at a local meeting recently and stated clearly that I expect that there will be NO armed people at the polls per federal law, and I am talking to my neighbors about the election and the candidates on our ballot.

I am unafraid, unintimidated, all gas no brakes through Election Day and what I expect will be illegal and unconstitutional meddling in results by a deranged and desperate President, his lawless administration, Republicans and their 💰puppeteers💰 through January 2027 when the new Congress is seated.

I’ve always thought that we should let the nurses be a big factor in determining how our healthcare system should be run.

Fear is never ever the solution to a problem. We cannot be afraid to vote, no matter the cost. That is what real patriotism is. Be brave and vote. This is OUR country.

Long time ago I learned from veterans of the civil rights movement to speak in the first-person singular -- "I" -- instead of generalizing about "we." How much do you know about the risk some people run in order to vote?

Go Blue Poem

Our country is in turmoil because we are divided

Billionaires control politicians because of citizens' United

Republicans only care about their billionaire donors

They treat us common citizens as if we were all stoners

Millions of Americans are losing their health care

All because Trump and Republicans do not care

They are making it more expensive for health care access

This is what Trump and Republicans call a success

Trump is losing his unauthorized war with Iran

Our fuel prices are rising because he has no exit plan

Utilities and home heating oil are rising, and winter is coming

They are blaming Democrats but it is all their own doing

Our Middle East military bases are being destroyed

Military families are mistreated with their loved ones deployed

Trump and Hegseth are responsible for the mismanagement

Republicans are not doing their jobs in our government

Donald is already complaining about the midterm election

Trump and his party have done nothing to earn your selection

Early voting has begun in every state

Trump is trying to buy your vote with a rebate

Trump and Republicans fear a free and fair election

Trump fears he will lose protection for his corruption

Trump and the billionaires made billions while we suffered

ICE abuses and higher prices is all they offered

We deserve better than their lame excuses

There is no explanation for all their abuses

Freedom isn't free it requires citizens to fight

Voting is power and your constitutional right

Please restack and share my poems on FB and elsewhere so the message is seen. Thanks, Packy Paules

We have 16 days of early voting in Florida. At the early voting site in my red district, we must place and pick up candidate signs EVERY day so me and hubby are on it ! I’m also a canvas driver.

Wanted to share this very powerful ad with an Epstein survivor speaking out about Sen Steals-from-kids Ashely Moody. We need more of these ads for MAGA candidates in other states!!

Ballot box monitor, have not observed anything concerning. I have observed a lot of voters dropping off their ballots which is GREAT!

Hi Scott. Your article about Flock cameras comes at a good time. I found a Flock camera at the end of my street. I’m trying to find out more information on who is responsible. I’ve alerted my state senator. What next? Who do I go to get it removed? I’m mad.😠 I will send in your letter. Thanks.

I have volunteered to be a poll watcher for Defenders of Democracy, A Democratic Group, but I have recently come down with the flu, so I think I have missed the training sessions. Anyway, on Friday my last $25 dollars in my checking account was cashed by the Abdul El Sayed MD PHD for US Senate Campaign. My Postcards to Voters went out on last Tuesday. My vote went in even sooner and acknowledged as received and countable by the SOS office here in Michigan.
