IMPORTANT ISSUES! THESE ARE NOT SOLICITATIONS
You shouldn’t have to wonder who is watching where you go. But right now, private companies are selling that information to the highest bidder, and federal agencies are buying it without a warrant. Flock Safety built a business selling and leasing tools to local police departments that allow them to track your location and your movements. Flock and similar companies have provided license plate scanning surveillance with guardrails so lax that around 50 cases have been reported in which law enforcement officers abused the technology to stalk people they knew. And Flock is just one player in a much bigger market. Agencies like ICE, the FBI, and the Pentagon have all admitted to buying your sensitive personal data from private data brokers, circumventing the court and forgoing warrants. The government is openly violating the Fourth Amendment.
Right now, we have a real opening to force an end to this egregious practice. When the public turned up the heat on Flock Safety, the company caved and made updates to its security and privacy guidelines. That pressure works. Now we need to aim it at Congress and force it to act to end warrantless surveillance.

If we don’t act now, agencies will continue quietly buying their way around the Constitution, with no court orders, no warrants, and no accountability. Your representatives have the power to close the data broker loophole. They have the duty to protect the privacy rights enshrined in the Constitution. Demand that they act on this issue while we have their attention.
If we win this, no government agency gets to buy its way around your right to privacy — not with Flock’s help, not with anyone’s.
There’s no democracy without privacy. Thanks for defending a fundamental American right.
