HIS OWN VOTERS DROWNED HIM OUT

Rep. Mike Flood went home to Bellevue, Nebraska, on Tuesday to defend his vote for Trump’s Big Ugly Bill—in a district Trump carried by thirteen points, and one that sent Flood back to Congress by more than twenty. It didn’t save him.
One constituent asked what he would do about the bill’s cuts to disability benefits. Flood got as far as “Well, under the One Big Beautiful Bill, we protected—” before the boos drowned him out.
He kept going—“the developmentally disabled, the persistent mentally ill, people that are of advanced age”—and the boos didn’t let up. When he called the bill “bipartisan,” the crowd came for him. In reality, every Democrat voted no and JD Vance was forced to break a tie to pass it.
Flood has now been booed in town after town across his own red district. His own voters are done pretending. November is coming.
THE CLINICS THAT SURVIVED ARE STILL OPEN

Walk into a Planned Parenthood clinic almost anywhere in the country today, and Medicaid covers your visit again. A year-long attack on that care just ran out of road—and lost.
A year ago, Trump signed a law cutting Planned Parenthood off from Medicaid—the way millions of low-income patients pay for cancer screenings, birth control, and checkups. Republicans built the ban to last exactly one year.
When it ran out, they let it die rather than fight to renew it heading into an election. Close to two dozen clinics didn’t survive the year. Most did—and on Sunday, every one of them could bill Medicaid again.
Rep. Brittany Pettersen, a Colorado Democrat, welcomed the news: “Restoring this funding means resources can finally flow back to the Coloradans who need them.”
They spent a year trying to shut these clinics down, and lost. Now the same groups are begging Congress to bring the ban back. Too late. The doors are open, the patients are getting care, and that’s what winning looks like.
ABC REFUSED TO KNEEL—THIS TIME

Trump’s FCC has spent months investigating The View, after the show hosted a Democratic Senate candidate without giving equal time to his opponent. ABC has folded at least twice to Trump before—a $15 million settlement in 2024, and a five-day suspension of Jimmy Kimmel last fall.
Monday night, they didn’t fold. They filed a legal answer that reads like a dare.
The network reminded the FCC of something inconvenient: the agency itself ruled The View a legitimate news program back in 2002. Nothing about the show has changed since—only who’s president.
Then ABC swung: “The First Amendment does not permit the government to sit in an editor’s chair.” Meanwhile, more than 77,000 Americans flooded the FCC with public comments, most in support of the network.
What the FCC is really asking for is the power to decide who counts as a “real” journalist in America. ABC told them, on the record, that nobody holds that power here. A company that already caved twice finally stood its ground—and that’s how the regime loses its grip, one refusal at a time.
ORBÁN’S LIE FACTORY WENT DARK—AND SAID SORRY

For sixteen years, Hungary’s state television fed people whatever lies kept Viktor Orbán in power. In April, voters finally threw Orbán out. This week, the network he used to lie to them went dark.
In its place, a message: “Public media should not lie. We are sorry for doing it for so long.” The state radio switched to classical music. New Prime Minister Péter Magyar, who beat Orbán in a landslide, didn’t hold back: “They lied at night, they lied during the day, they lied on every wavelength. That is now over.” He’d promised exactly this the night he won—this week he made good on his pledge.
Remember who tried to save Orbán. Vance flew to Budapest, held his phone up to a rally microphone, and blasted Trump’s voice across the stadium: “I love that Viktor.” None of it worked. They crossed an ocean to prop up a dictator. Hungary defeated him at the ballot box—and took his lie machine down with him.
LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS UNTIL NOVEMBER
A propaganda machine just went dark and apologized on air—and that kind of win never happens by accident. It happens when people organize and refuse to back down.

It's driving me nuts I hear on mainstream media that Susan Collins will win her senate seat in November. It's critical that Democrats win not only Maine, but North Carolina, Iowa, Texas, and Alaska. This election is a referendum on Trump, MAGA, and all the other delusional congressmen who have allowed this toxicity to metastasize. We need to take back both houses to start repairing the damage. Susan Collins must loose to a Democrat. This is important for the whole country (I live in Arizona, where we have TWO Democratic senators). Susan Collins wins in a Democratic state. How can that be? She is the reason the SC is what it is (corrupt) and the reason Kavanaugh and the other monsters on the SC have taken away OUR reproductive rights. She is a Trump sycophant, and as a result she should be held accountable for everything he's done to destroy our climate, foreign relations, income inequality, and more. She allowed DOGE to happen, the defunding and deregulation of important federal programs, life saving programs, not to mention our safety. She is as responsible for the blood on their hands in Gaza, Iran, and Africa. Sure, she does stuff in the interest of Mainers. The list is long. All the money in her war chest may convince some Democrats and Independents in Maine for voting for her. We need to fight that massive amount of money. No matter who the Democratic candidate is, we CAN NOT let Susan Collins win. Please support whoever the Democratic candidate for the Maine senate seat.

Some of us don't charge anything, because we have day jobs, and we don't rely on Substack for income. We also don't do as good a job as Scott does.

A congressman getting booed in a district he won by twenty points isn't a bad town hall — it's a performance review. And "we protected the developmentally disabled" getting drowned out mid-sentence tells you the crowd already read the bill, which is apparently more than can be said for some people who voted on it.
The Planned Parenthood story is peak regime energy: build a one-year ban, watch it become wildly unpopular, then quietly let it expire like a gym membership you're too embarrassed to cancel in person.
Looks like the leadership at ABC finally found a spine, which took some time.

In 2009, I went to a town hall meeting that Marsha Blackburn was having about the Affordable Care Act. It was held at an Embassy Suites. When I arrived, the place was mobbed. I couldn’t get in the meeting room. I then learned I had to have a ticket that was provided by Congressional representative Blackburn. I was pissed. There was a bigger venue five miles away (the County Ag Center) that would’ve accommodated EVERYONE. Haven’t thought much of Blackburn since. PS Blackburn is too old to be governor.
